How To Help

Be a part of the "Recycling Krewe"

Since the city does not provide recycling services at most neighborhood events, RAH takes the task of setting up recycling bins, checking and replacing bags during the day, and then tearing down after the event. Its not hard work, and you aren't asked to do anything you're not comfortable with. And you can often drink beer, listen to music, watch the people and enjoy the festival while you do it! How can you beat that for a volunteer job!

Advocate for Recycling Anywhere and Anytime

Many businesses and events do not offer recycling facilities to their patrons.  It is usually not willful neglect, but simply an oversight.  YOU are the customer, and it is your job to remind them that recycling should be available to you, and you would appreciate their cooperation in providing it.  Often a simple word to someone in charge at a business or - better yet - a thoughtfully worded letter, pointing out the lack of recycling, can work wonders.  For festivals, find out who organizes it and visit their booth, or again, pen a short letter to tell them what they are missing, and feel free to send them to us for resources and information.

In general, keep your eyes peeled for places to RAH - Recycle Away from Home - and make the world better for all of us.
